Ag Partners winner of the 2015 Environmental Respect Award for State of Iowa
Ag Partners, L.L.C. is excited to announce that it has been named the winner of the 2015 Environmental Respect Award for the State of Iowa.
This prestigious award is the agricultural industry’s highest recognition for environmental stewardship among agricultural retailers in the United States. This award honors the industry’s finest farm supply businesses that preserve and protect the environment in the course of their service to their farmer-customers.
A lengthy application and supporting materials were provided to be considered for this award, and a panel of industry experts evaluated the application, considering excellence in such areas as demonstration of leadership in plant-site compliance, proper chemical application techniques, retail safety, customer service, and safety and environmental stewardship on behalf of our customers, among a number of other categories.
Ag Partners was evaluated against 30 other companies in the state and was deemed the winner and representative for the State of Iowa for 2015.
“Ag Partners is committed to helping producers prosper and also being the best steward of the environment as we can,” said Troy Upah, CEO of Ag Partners, L.L.C. “It is truly the commitment to excellence and safety each and every one of our employees put forth every day that allowed us to win this prestigious award. We are honored to represent the State of Iowa as a leader in environmental stewardship.”
Ag Partners is committed to the highest level of maintenance of its facilities as well as upgrades when needed, in order to ensure the highest level of safety, efficiency and environmental protection. An example of this is the recent construction of an expanded and updated urea ammonium nitrate liquid fertilizer storage facility at its Albert City location to include newer, modern storage.
Because safety is the number one priority, all employees are required to receive safety training, and on average, receive at least 26 hours of safety training each year. Last fiscal year, Ag Partners spent more than $100,000 to train its employees on safety issues.
Ag Partners is also a proud member of Agriculture’s Clean Water Alliance, which is a group of leading ag retailers in west-central Iowa committed to helping farmers blend optimal crop yield and profitability with the best environmental performance possible.
